Meet our extra horses. They are either in training, used for training new drivers or growing up with a future on the team. They often come along to events, so they get the exposure to all the new and often scary sights and sounds. We want them to be comfortable with all that before they start driving on the team.
Some of them are for sale, so scroll down and check them all out. Roll your curser over each picture for another one to show up.
If you are interested in any of them, email us at dbllequest@hotmail.com
"Mac"
Fin MacCool, aka Mac, was 1 of our first minis. He is 32" tall and was lead on the team in 2003 . In 2004 he was 3rd in line and then was retired from the team, since he is little and had a hard time keeping up the pace. He is now used to train new drivers and also pulls a wagon in parades with Tinkerbelle. His color is a cross between palomino and buckskin. His mane and legs get darker every year, but not true black. His half brother Coolio was on the team in 2003 and 2005 . You can see him in those years under photos.
"Tinkerbelle"
Tinkerbelle or Tinks, is 31" tall and was lead on the team for 2 years before retiring, since she also had trouble keeping up the fast pace. Her color is red roan and she has the greatest personality. She is also used for training new drivers on occasion and pulls the wagon with Mac in parades. Watch for the 2 of them in the Chicago Xmas parade on Thanksgiving morning, pulling the wagon full of presents behind the 8 horses representing Santa's reindeer on WGN TV, 9 - 11 am..
''Mighty Mouse''
Mighty Mouse is a gorgeous 20 yr old, 33.5" miniature stallion from Fryslan farms in McHenry. He is AMHR registered and thinks he's a mini Friesian, since he's been around them all his life. Three of our babies were fathered by him (Nemo, Tryton and Twylite). Nemo and Tryton were sold out of the area, but Twylite made her debut on the drill team this year (2010).
"April"
April is 12 years old, 37" and has been driving for a while, but is strong. She was driven at Midwest Horse Fair in April and did well. She's fun to drive, just hold her in to slow down or push your hands forward and she extends out. She is for sale or available for lease.
"Jojo"
Jojo is a 4 year old, 35" and was trained to drive a year ago. He was driven on the drill team during several events last year and did great. He's not really a beginner's horse, but a driver with some experience would enjoy him. He's very sweet and loves attention. His color (chocolate palomino) makes him stand out in the crowd. He is available for lease or sale.
"Honey"
SOLD
Bucklin is 12 years old, 34" and a mover. He really knows his stuff when it comes to driving, but needs a driver who has driven before. He has been at Midwest Horse fair twice and in a number of other events. His color in summer is a dark gold buckskin with black mane, tail and legs. He is available for lease and possibly for sale.
"Leeta"
SOLD
Charlie is 6 years old, 35" and may have driven before. We got him last fall and started driving him and he seemed to know what to do. He has now graduated to practicing with the drill team and should make his debut soon at an event. He needs a driver who has driven before. His striking silver dapple color gets attention and he is fun to play with. He can be led around barrels, over obstacles and likes to be brushed and fussed with. He is for sale or lease .
"Charlie"
"Galaxy"
SOLD
"Rosie"
SOLD
"Trigger"
SOLD.
Trigger is 3 years old, 36" and as you can see, may have been a bit spoiled. He came here last fall and is now trained to drive. He's really very sweet and has had a lot of handling by kids, already. However, he will not make it onto the drill team, as he is just too laid back and doesn't want to hurry. He will be great for kids or beginners. Congratulations Penny on getting your beloved Trigger back.
